I encountered venomous intolerance, hate. Society stands thoroughly polarised.
LAHORE: Over the past few days, I have been researching and reading up on what Salmaan Taseer said with regard to the blasphemy laws. And in this exercise, I came across hate, the likes of which I had never seen before in my life. I encountered blinding self-righteousness, and hate. And I encountered venomous intolerance, and hate. Society stands thoroughly polarised.
I wanted to see when the governor used the words ‘kala qanoon’ and I couldn’t come across a single instance where he had done so. All that he wanted was that the law, which by all accounts is misused, be reviewed and modified to eliminate that misuse.
Nothing more needs to be said. Whoever you are, whatever you may call yourself, if you're reading this, reach out and save Pakistan. Save Pakistan from this crippling hate.
