Justice Sajjad Ali Shah took oath as the 24th chief justice of the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday. Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan administered oath to Justice Shah at a ceremony held on the high court's premises. Justice Shah took oath after former chief justice Faisal Arab was elevated to the Supreme Court. He took oath in Urdu in compliance of the apex court's ruling to declare Urdu as the official language in the country. Justice Shah was appointed as standing council for the government of Pakistan in 2002, and thereafter as deputy attorney general for the government of Pakistan in 2004.
