Quaid-e-Azam Trophy: Salman’s unbeaten ton lifts Lahore Blues

Team posts 302-4 on day one of Super Eight stage against WAPDA

KARACHI: Agha Salman opened Lahore Blues’ Super Eight fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy against Wapda with an unbeaten century at the NBP Stadium in Karachi on Monday.

Opting to bat first, Lahore Blues posted 302-4 on day one as Salman scored 113 runs off 211 balls along with Haris Nazar contributing 103, while Naseer Akram picked up three wickets for 72 for Wapda. At the end of play, Raza Ali Dar (52) was at the crease with Salman.

At the UBL ground in Karachi, Younus Khan scored 85 runs along with Umar Saddique chipping in with 60 to take UBL’s first-innings score to 228-7, while Muhammad Asghar recorded figures of 4-64 for NBP.

Meanwhile, SNGPL’s Imran Khalid bagged four scalps with Asad Ali and Bilawal Bhatti taking three and two wickets respectively to restrict KRL on 208 in 60 overs, while Shoaib Ahmed (77) and Nauman Ali (60) were the highest scorers from KRL.

At the close of play, SNGPL were on 38-1 with Muhammad Hafeez (12) and Azhar Ali (16) on the crease.

In another match, Jahad Ali scored 76 runs to help Karachi Whites reach 242-4 after 86 overs against SSGC at the Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad. Ali was ably assisted by an unbeaten 56-run knock from Saud Shakeel, while Rajesh Ramesh took three wickets for 49 runs for SSGC.
