Busted: Purse snatchers, pickpockets arrested

They also confessed to two other purse snatching incidents in Bahria Town and F-10 Markaz

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police on Sunday said they arrested three gangs involved in snatching purses from women, pick pocketing and other crimes. Special investigation unit (SIU) of the police nabbed the suspects, said a police spokesperson. SIU had constituted three teams to nab the suspects. Two suspects, Atif Ali alias Aati and Zohaib alias Zaibi, confessed to snatching purses from Saadia Awan, an assistant director in the Foreign Office, in Jinnah Super Market and from Punjab MPA Surriya Nasim in F-10 Markaz. They also confessed to two other purse snatching incidents in Bahria Town and F-10 Markaz. Two other suspects, Rauf Aslam and Usman Aslam, were wanted by the police for their involvement in fraud cases and bogus business deals. Another two suspects, Zafar and Abdul Shakoor, confessed to picking pockets in Bari Imam, Mandi Mor, Pir Wadhai and several other localities.
