Looking ahead: IT park, lab on the cards: Tarakai

Tarakai says these facilities will enable students to effectively use modern technology

Minister for Health and Information Technology Shahram Khan Tarakai has said the provincial government will set up an IT park and a lab in Islamia College University.


This was stated in a handout issued on Sunday. According to the document, he was speaking at the concluding ceremony for Centenary Youth Festival at the varsity.

As per the statement, Tarakai said these facilities will enable students to effectively use modern technology. The initiatives will enable them to improve their skills.



The handout cited the minister as saying 2016 has been declared the year of technology.

“The government will empower young people and help them find jobs in the international market,” it added. Tarakai is quoted as saying that the PTI government is tapping the potential of young people and aims to improve educational opportunities.

Tarakai also urged students to participate in co-curricular activities as well to improve their chances of success.

“The provincial government plans to introduce a mechanism to root out corruption and nepotism and ensure officials are appointed on merit,” the handout quoted him as saying.

He said the government is taking an initiative to empower the public in real terms.

He added efforts were afoot to construct sports complexes on the tehsil level.

“Complexes will also be extended to the union council level in the near future,” the document quoted him
as saying.
