Former Pakistan captain and World Cup winner Moin Khan, South Africans Mickey Arthur and Paddy Upton and former National Cricket Academy director Mohammad Akram have been named the head coaches of Omar Associates Quetta, ARY Karachi, Lahore Qalandar and Haier Peshawar respectively.
Moin — who was also a former head coach, chief selector and team manager of the national team — has been roped in by Quetta as head coach, while his assistants could likely be former England cricketer Ian Pont and Shahid Aslam, a regular fixture in Pakistan’s team management.

Team owner Nadeem Omar said Moin can help Quetta form a winning team as he knows all the ‘ins and outs’ of Pakistan cricket.
“Quetta considered foreign options as well, but we had to keep local players’ comfort level in mind, so we selected Moin as our head coach,” he told The Express Tribune.
“For one of the assistant coaches’ spot, we’ve put in the name of Pont, who has an impressive profile winning two titles with the Bangladesh Gladiators [in Bangladesh Premier League].”
Meanwhile, Arthur will be assisted by Pakistan spin-bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed in the Karachi outfit.
Peshawar would be headed by Akram, who is expected to be assisted by Pakistan fielding coach and trainer Grant Luden.
