Cult of Imran

KARACHI: This is with reference to Faria Syed’s piece of April 30 titled “The cult of Imran Khan”. I think Imran is perhaps one of the unluckiest politicians in the country. He has tried all kinds of things to get supporters but has failed. He tried to get more supporters by taking on the MQM – at least verbally – and that did not work. Then he tried to cash in on anti-Americanism but that didn’t really work either. And then he tried to get on the Taliban bandwagon – and that flopped when the extremists started targeting Pakistanis.
