American woman lashes out at praying Muslims, calls them 'brainwashed'

Video shows California state worker yelling at Muslims before she throws her coffee at one of them

A woman was videotaped yelling at a group of Muslims praying in a park in California before she threw her coffee at one of them in what appears to be another Islamophobic attack.

Rasheed Albeshari, one of the Muslims present during the incident posted a video of the California state worker as she approached the group of friends who were praying at San Francisco Bay Area park, hurling hateful comments at them.



“The people you tortured are going to be in eternity in heaven. You are very deceived by Satan. Your mind has been taken over…brainwashed. And you have nothing but hate. Nothing but hate,” she said.

According to public information officer Carolyn Jones, the woman was identified as Denise Slader, an employee of the California Department of Corrections.

In the video, Slader was seen striking the man who was filming her with and umbrella, followed by which she threw her cup of coffee at him.



Meanwhile, speaking to BuzzFeed, Jones said, “One of the [Muslim] men then tried to engage her in a conversation about religion and it quickly turned hostile,” resulting in Slader yelling insults.

A police officer took statements from all parties, but did not cite or arrest the woman, as he did not witness the incident, Jones said. He further claimed that the police have send an incident report to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office to review for possible charges of misdemeanour or a hate crime.

"No change has been registered in Slader’s employment status," an agency spokesperson said.
