KARACHI:

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi refuted fresh allegations of corruption against the country’s football body regarding the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Finance Assistance Programme (AFAP) funds.

Former national coaches Gohar Zaman and Nasir Ismail had claimed that the PFF used the names of at least six coaches to misguide AFC’s AFAP accounts audit.

According to Zaman and Ismail, the PFF initially transferred the funds owed to the coaches to their accounts to balance their audit sheet and later asked them to sign a blank cheque so that the federation can retrieve the money.

However, Lodhi stated otherwise. “Giving and receiving a blank cheque is a crime,” he said. “They can’t prove any of their claims because the FIFA and AFC have a system and we worked according to that.”
