Vacant seat: G-B gears up for GBLA-6 polls
The date to announce the rejection or acceptance of appeals by returning officers has been set for January 2, 2016
GILGIT:
The Election Commission in Gilgit-Baltistan announced the by-polls schedule for a constituency vacated by Mir Ghazanfar Ali – GBLA-6, Hunza-Nagar 3. The seat fell vacant after Ghazanfar took charge as the region’s governor. He replaced Barjees Tahir. The notification says the polls will be held on January 28, 2016. The public notice for by-polls will be issued by December 10, while the dates for filing nomination papers are December 14 and 15. The date to announce the rejection or acceptance of appeals by returning officers has been set for January 2, 2016.
