Inclusion in senate: KMU officers threaten to revolt

The association president said the next general body meeting will be held on December 11

The Peshawar Officers Association of Khyber Medical University (KMU) has threatened to protest on a grand scale if it is not represented in the senate and syndicate. The demands were made at a meeting of KMU Officers Association which was held on Wednesday. They said under the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Universities (Amendment) Act, 2015 they were also entitled to promotions. On the occasion, association president Imtiaz Ali said, “Some groups use these articles for their personal interests.” He added, “Administrative staff plays a key role in the running of university affairs but they have been deprived of privileges and other benefits.” The association president said the next general body meeting will be held on December 11, in which the future course of action will be disclosed.
