Remembering pareshan: 85th birth anniversary observed in K-P

The poet also wrote a book on the origin of Pukhtuns that is still used as a reference all over the world

PESHAWAR: The 85th birth anniversary of Pareshan Khattak will be observed on Thursday (today). The late poet, who is considered a Pashto poetry legend, was born in Karak in Ghundi Mir Khan Khel village on December 10, 1932. He was not only a poet, but also an administrator. He was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Imtiaz for literary and national services. Pareshan was the chairperson for University Grants Commission and also served as the vice chancellor for Gomal University of DI Khan, among other important positions. The poet also wrote a book on the origin of Pukhtuns that is still used as a reference all over the world.
