Pakistan People Party (PPP) Senator and Chairman of Senate Standing Committee Rehman Malik said that Balochistan is the best role model for other provinces in implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).

During a press conference held at the Chief Minister Secretariat on Tuesday, he said that while in the past ten years the law and order situation was the worst in Balochistan when UNHCR Balochistan Head John Soloki, a US national, was kidnapped, now the situation has changed drastically and law and order has improved a lot.

“The Apex Committee of Balochistan has fully implemented all decisions in coordination with all elements in the province,” he said adding that unity and close coordination with security agencies is the main reason behind improvement in Balochistan’s law and order situation.

Rehman Malik, who also held the role of former interior minister, said that according to a law and order situation briefing by the home minister regarding the NAP, around 40% militancy was carried out by Baloch separatist groups and 60% militancy on sectarian basis.
