PESHAWAR:

University of Peshawar and UNDP signed a letter of agreement to carry out capacity-building initiatives for young people in Fata. According to a press release, the agreement was signed during a ceremony at UoP on Tuesday. “The agreement is aimed at imparting entrepreneurship skills among 300 young people at the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences), Peshawar,” read the statement. “In addition, the faculty and students of IMSciences would independently monitor ongoing UNDP projects.” The agreement will initially remain effective for a year and will be extended subject to consent of both parties. “Fata has been in the grips of conflict,” UoP Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan said. “As a result, young people have not gained the opportunity to get an education.”
