Ankara meeting: Shahbaz felicitates Erodgan on polls victory

Says progress made by Turkey during the last 13 years is worth emulating for other countries

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif called on Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Monday and discussed national and regional matters.

According to an official statement, Shahbaz congratulated Erodgan on the victory in election and said that the success of ruling party reflected unconditional confidence in the performance of the government and his leadership by the people of Turkey.

The Punjab CM said that he had come to Turkey with the felicitation message and congratulation on behalf of the Pakistani people. He said the tremendous progress made by Turkey during the last 13 years was worth emulating for other countries.

Shahbaz said the people of Pakistan were grieved over the recent incidents of terrorism in Turkey.

He said that a number of development projects were continuing in Pakistan with the cooperation of Turkey in various sectors. He said that metro bus and cleanliness arrangements in Punjab were a living proof of Pak-Turk cooperation.

He said that Turk companies would be welcome in the megaproject of repair and reconstruction of 20,000 kilometres long roads in villages of Punjab.

Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan speaking on the occasion said that Turkey considered Pakistan its best friend and Turk government and the people wanted to see Pakistan progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Turk people were always ready to extend cooperation to Pakistan in every sector, he said.
