KARACHI:

The administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts remanded on Monday a Pasban leader, his son and another suspect to police custody for 10 days on charges of instigating terrorism and harbouring criminals. Usman Moazzam, general secretary of Pasban, was handed over to the police by the Rangers in November. A case was lodged against him after his 90-day preventive detention expired. The police produced Moazzam's son, Muhammad Siddiqui, and another suspect, Ubaidur Rehman, before the judge. Siddiqui was picked up along with his father when the Rangers raided their residence on July 19. The police have shown eight suspects, including Dr Akmal Waheed, who was accused of manipulating an attack on Karachi Corps Commander in 2004 but was later exonerated by a court.
