You know Hamza Ali Abbasi is really upset when he chooses an entirely new medium to express his feelings. The actor took to Facebook, yet again, but this time decided to make a video in an effort to get his message across without being 'misunderstood'.

This time around, Abbasi chose to voice his disappointment at the outcome of the local government elections in Karachi. As we all know, MQM swept the polls, while the PTI -- the political party Hamza vehemently supports -- failed to make any significant gains in the metropolis.

It's hardly surprising then that Hamza didn't seem too pleased with the results.

So he decided to make a 16-minute video to basically tell Karachiites they don't know what they want.

In a video specifically addressing MQM voters, Abbasi chose to share his distress with Pakistanis asking whether they are happy with their decision and the voting result. "Are you happy with what you have? Because you deserve better Karachi," he is seen saying in the video.

The actor highlighted the country's biggest city Karachi had become synonymous with everything that is wrong in Pakistan: bad law and order, kidnappings and 'boriyan'. He also made comparisons between between Quetta, Lahore, Peshawar and Islamabad, saying these cities boasted better infrastructure than Karachi. Abbasi even lauded the PML-N for its work in Lahore.

Among other things, the actor said PTI chief Imran Khan had no desire for money or power, while claiming the cricket superstar was offered Rs30 million to commentate a single match -- a claim later discredited by a senior VP at Ten Sports.

Currently I am located in Dubai and went to Karachi to cast my vote for MQM because I have seen their performance during the era of Mustafa Kamal. BTW I was supporting PTI during general elections and have observed stupid decisions taken by PTI leadership; specially when Imran Khan was getting married during the incident of APS School. I think you dont know even with neglect shown by federal/provincial govts since Pakistan's inception it is still the best city even with its flaws. Stay in ISB we dont need your hypocritical sermons. Give this lecture to Mr Khan first and ask him why did he declare innings when Javed Miandad was 280 not out and was on verge on breaking world record! My request don't insult the judgement of people who are the most educated and give more tax even more then you. Lets realize that unlike in Lahore where only Punjabis rule, or in Peshawar where only Pakhtuns have all the say, Karachi is much more challenging because multiple ethnicities have to work together. If we can respect the Pakhtun mandate in Peshawar, then grant the same to Karachiites and the mandate they have given to the MQM (by this I mean give the resources needed to run the city instead of putting roadblocks in governance as has been the penchant of the PPP government whenever MQM wins Karachi, Hyderabad etc.) MQM will wean itself off militancy, but it needs to be given the resources and funding to run the city fair and square. The reason MQM has taken to militancy is because of the high handedness of those who win the province (i.e. PPP).

If a Punjabi votes for a Punjabi, Baloch votes for a Baloch and a Pakhtun votes for a Pakhtun (which happens all the time), and that is never an issue of national unity then why is it that the moment an Urdu speakers vote for the MQM, all sorts of fires are lit up? Lets give this nonsense a break! Pakistan is made up of multiple ethnicities. Lets celebrate them and perhaps we would be all the better for it. This artificial veneer of "we are ALL Pakistanis" only goes so far. Yes outside of the country we are all Pakistanis, but within we are different people who all love Pakistan the same. But why is there this silly, almost stupid attempt to put down someone calling themselves Muhajir? I don't see a Punjabi or a Pakhtun or a Sindhi ever feeling embarrassed about who they are so why are people making fuss over someone calling themselves Muhajir? We obviously know that in Pakistan, just saying "I am Pakistani" isn't really taken as a valid statement (beyond lip service that is). At the end of the day everyone wants to know which biradri, tehseel and ethnicity you come from. So let the immigrants and their offsprings define themselves as "Muhajirs" because they do not come from the native land and immigrated to it. What is wrong with this? If people have such a big issue then lets go back to the one unit and get rid of the four provinces which feed the ethnicity issue. If that is not practical then lets celebrate the ethnicities and the differences (for as long as they remain civil!). We are still struggling with 5 major ethnicities in Pakistan, our neighbour has over 50 and they get along just fine because they celebrate diversity. Perhaps we should try this for a change! An no Hamza Abbasi, you cannot crib over MQM winning this fair and square. Instead of sour grapes, let Karachi exercise its mandate through the MQM!

You are educated individual and i assume you have lived in Karachi in your early struggling days.I am sure you are aware of dynamics of Karachi, its people and for sure the politics of the city. Mohajir - Personally I alongwith millions of people like me would not call ourselves a mohajir after being born and raised in Karachi but sad and very unfortunate this TITLE was given to us NOT by MQM but the elite bureaucracy and establishment of Pakistan. As a student completing initial education from schools it was time for me to get in college and thats where I faced first hurdle of not getting admissions in med school or engineering college as there were NO quota available in schools for local student. I was kept on waiting list while I was noticing students from other provinces with lesser grades were getting admission promptly. How heart breaking is that?This was my first discrimination of life. Then I stepped into practical life of getting a profession with my educational background. Here again I was ignored and set aside with same rhetoric NO JOB QUOTA available. You will be amazed and shocked to know back in the days government job openings in all major Newspapers used to have "APPLICANTS WHO ARE GRADUATE FROM KARACHI UNIVERSITY NEED NOT APPLY". This was my second discrimination of life and hit me face on like a freight train. How pathetic is that? Having above experiences I realized and had feelings what if I was born in Larkana or Lahore or Peshawar or Quetta would I had to go through such dilemma? I realized I was being addressed as Mohajir and my domicile of Karachi was worth nothing more than a piece of paper. Hamza I am not aware if you ever went through these hurdles of life at initial stages but ask me and millions of others whose families (old parents brothers and sisters) cherish and keep dreaming of better quality of life once their child is educated and start earning.My parents sold each and every valuable of their lifetime to get me educated and wait for dreams to come true. This is hardship and surely we deserve better. All those scar and hurtful emotions has today brought me to an edge where I call myself a PROUD MOHAJIR as it may sound bitter to all other people of Pakistan but what i said is TRUE and based on personal experiences. Hamza please try to win hearts and minds of people of Karachi. We dont hate any one but do you not think we deserve a better life as any other Pakistanis.Please understand why Karachi is for MQM. You must live with Karachites and understand their sorrows, grief and share happiness and this you could only learn and do when you live and die with us.

Mr. Khan is involved in unethical practices including cheque fraud yet roams around freely as he is misusing his political standing. So can't see any difference between PTI and status quo parties. Your party copy a slogan of MQM with "APNA" by putting up picture of Mr. Imran Khan who wasted time of Pakistanis in long dharnas and leader of Jamat-e-Islami.
