A two-day conference will be held on local community-driven development, with the aim of highlighting the work of organised local communities. The National Conference on Community Driven Development (CDD) will commence on Monday (today) and end on December 8. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, will be the chief guest at the conference. The conference is organised by the European Union (EU) and the Rural Support Programmes Network. EU Ambassador to Pakistan Jean-François Cautain, Secretary Economic Affairs Division Tariq Bajwa, RSPN Chairman Shoaib Sultan Khan, government officials, academia and social sector experts from Pakistan, India, Germany, Afghanistan and Tajikistan will address the conference. They will share their experience of community mobilisation and its impact on the lives of poor in their countries.
