Hours after a man wielding a knife slashed a man in an east London metro station on Saturday, reportedly screaming “this is for Syria”, the hashtag #YouAintNoMuslimBruv started trending on Twitter.

The attacker seriously injured one man and wounded two others in what the Scotland Yard is treating as "a terrorist incident".

One Twitter user posted a video showing police restraining the alleged attacker, while an onlooker could be heard shouting, "You ain't no Muslim bruv."

This does not mean that the passer-by, whom we don't even know is a Muslim or not, is throwing someone out of a religion. Rather it emphasises the fact that people are realising that many Muslims are peaceful and want to remain so. It is their emerging opinion and I, being a Muslim in Europe myself, support it whole heartedly. @Editor: Please add the full story of what happened or link the original story of the event. The way this article stands now is confusing people into thinking that others are judging who is Muslim or not, which makes matters worse as our people are prone to jumping to conclusions rather than finding the truth.
