LG polls: Over 40,000 LEA personnel to be deployed in Karachi
Sindh government declares 1,714 out of 4,037 polling stations most sensitive

As part of the security arrangements for local government elections, the Sindh government has decided to deploy 35,057 police and 7,400 Rangers personnel to ensure smooth electioneering in Karachi on December 5.
Pakistan Army will also deploy 10 companies, each of which has a force of 80 personnel, said Home Secretary Mohammad Waseem during a press conference at the Chief Minister's House on Friday.
The personnel will provide security to 4,037 polling stations with 1,714 of these declared ‘most sensitive’ and 1,329 ‘sensitive’, he added.
Karachi LG polls: Rangers can take action inside polling stations
There are over 7.49 million registered voters in the south, east and west zones of seven city districts.
The number of general seats for 23 union councils and 213 union committees in the city is 922 and 852 respectively.
