Gone are the days when parents-to-be would search encyclopedias to find a perfect name for the newest addition to their family.

Summer-born kids likely to be taller and healthier

Millennial parents have become more tech-savvy now as they turn to Instagram filters to help name their newborn.


Parenting site BabyCentre.com gathered data from more than 340,000 registered names by parents to compile a list of the most popular names of 2015. They found that most of the names were inspired by the photo-editing app.

Lux was rated the most popular baby boy name rising to 75% on the list, followed by Ludwig, Juno, Amaro, Valencia, Willow and Reyes.


According to the site, "These are all names of Instagram filters and tools that add depth, artistry, and sparkle to lackluster landscapes and washed-out selfies. And they're becoming increasingly popular names for babies."

However, not every name is popular, some parents are not keen on naming their children Sierra, Walden, Lark, Lo-Fi, Moon, and Inkwell.
