NAB approves inquiries against Pervaiz Ashraf
Authorises investigation against ex-power secretary Shahid Rafi as well
ISLAMABAD:
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday authorised inquiries against former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and former water and power secretary Shahid Rafi, among others.
Both have been accused of corruption and misuse of authority in awarding a 220MW rental power project (RPP) contract to Reshma Power Generation Limited, causing a loss of Rs892.609 million to national exchequer.
Cases to be filed against ex-PM Ashraf, others
The meeting, chaired by NAB chief Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, also authorised an investigation against Young Gen Power Limited, Ashraf, Rafi, PEPCO MD Fazal Ahmad Khan, NPGCL former CEO Rafiq Butt, former finance director Ejaz Babar, and others.
