Things are heating up between Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid

Reports suggest Gigi's ex, Joe Jonas, isn't taking the news well and her friends aren't happy either

Model Gigi Hadid's friends are not impressed by her new beau, former One Direction member Zayn Malik.

After they were spotted at another date night, it appears things are getting serious between the two stars.



"Her friends do not quite understand what the attraction is. He is not her usual type, he doesn't share her sense of humour or ease with people (and) he's a little more self-aware and awkward," a source told E! Online.



Just a few days ago, Hadid took to Twitter to defend her new romance after a number of photographs emerged of her and Zayn holding hands on a date night.





In a post that has now been deleted, she reportedly wrote: "Sometimes life happens. For whatever reason in whatever timing. And sometimes it doesn't make sense till it does. That's it."



"If there was a real way to sit with each one of you and tell you my side of things, I would. But there's not, so I won't. I've found the only way to happiness is by living as though the microscope isn't there," she said in the tweet.



Gigi has previously dated singers Joe Jonas and Cody Simpson while Zayn ended things with fiancee Perrie Edwards earlier this year.

It was reported that Gigi and Joe broke up earlier in November because of their "busy schedules" and the split was an amicable one. But it appears that Joe isn't happy seeing his former love moving on already.

He apparently unfollowed both his ex and Zayn on Instagram after pictures of them holding hands appeared online, reports DailyMail. He also deleted a picture of him and Zayn with Kanye West from his Twitter account.

The picture had been taken in June and Joe had shared it with the caption "#SQUAD".

Ouch.



Gigi had revealed in September that Joe liked her long before they started dating and first asked her out when she was thirteen, but she turned him down. They became friends though, and started dating in May this year before ending things on friendly terms in November.
