Our political culture

If one looks around, we see a clear picture of nepotism and dynastic politics in the selection of our representatives

RAWALPINDI: If it is true that the local government system empowers common people to solve their issues at the grassroots level, it basically implies that local bodies form the basis of a political system. However, if one looks around, we see a clear picture of nepotism and dynastic politics in the selection of our representatives.

We prefer to vote on the basis of biradari rather than on the ability of the candidate to represent us effectively at the local level. So, how can we expect and demand an end to dynastic politics at the national level?
