Expansion: PIA, Turkish Airlines join hands
National carrier to provide daily link to 100 international destinations from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
KARACHI:
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), under a joint venture and commercial arrangements with Turkish Airlines, has decided to provide daily link to over 100 international destinations from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, a PIA spokesman said on Thursday.
Turkish Airlines has a fleet of 151 passenger aircraft and plans to increase it up to 200 aircraft this year. It has been a member of the Star Alliance since April 2008. The airline serves 128 international and 39 domestic destinations.
The spokesman said PIA will continue operating to USA, UK, France, Norway, Denmark and some other European destinations. However, minor adjustments in frequencies will be required.
