Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Marvi Memon, told young entrepreneurs here on Sunday that there is no shortcut to success, while urging them to find out alternatives on how entrepreneurship could help improve and stabilise the country’s economy.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, while speaking at the concluding session of the 4th Annual Entrepreneurship Conference “Learn, Create, Lead (LCL) 2015”, stressed women participation in all walks of life.
A number of speakers belonging to different sectors addressed young entrepreneurs through presentations and panel discussions in the two-day event.
Memon said passion, dedication, charisma and motivation were the core elements for success in life.
She added that in the current economic situation, it was the need of the hour that young entrepreneurs come forward and play their role.
Memon also stressed that education was the backbone of the economy.
Motivational speaker Umair Jaliawala in an impressive session said most people die with the music still inside them, and perhaps the wealthiest place was the graveyard because it had talent buried in it.
“We have excellent ‘hardware’, all we need is the skill to use the ‘software’,” he said.
Jaliawala added that ego, stability, fear, training, experience and talent comparisons were few of the impediments in the path of development of an entrepreneur.
He stressed on new entrepreneurs to be humble.
Owner of Monal Restaurant, Luqman Afzal, said for a restaurant to do well in the country, the key to success is in pricing.
He said that employees should be allowed profit sharing, respect and autonomy in business.
Waseela Bank CEO Ghanzanfar Azam said that there were lots of opportunities in the rural areas where the public sector had been unable to play a significant role.
