KARACHI:
Only a few weeks after announcing that his upcoming album will be his swansong, singer Saleem Javed has released the music video for the first single, Gayee Kahan, from the soon-to-be-released record.

The music video for the song has been directed by Javed’s son JO-G and like previous music videos released by the pop-singer during his 35-year-long career, Gayee Kahan also features a performance-based sequence.

While Javed is shown lip-syncing the lyrics, the video is inter-cut with a flamenco dance performance by two other artistes.

During an earlier interview with The Express Tribune, the singer had spoken about how his latest album, Suno, will feature a host of local and international artistes as he attempts to incorporate a flavour of world music in his songs. “I am confident that people will remember the music of Suno for years to come. It is the most profound music that I’ve ever made,” he stated.

According to the singer, Suno includes a diverse range of musical styles from sufi kalams to never-heard-before unplugged tracks, as well as the usual remixes. Gayee Kahan is not the only music video that the singer has released off late. He had also produced a music video for an unplugged version of his iconic track Tum Mere Ho, which was released a few months back.

Gayee Kahan, written, composed and produced by JO-G and is part of the 12-track album Suno, which will be Javed’s first album in eight years.
