Long-Term Struggle: JI demands Rs500 billion for FATA
Mushtaq added all education systems were destroyed from militancy and there are no medical facilities for locals
PESHAWAR:
Jamaat-e-Islami K-P Ameer Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has urged the federal government to provide Rs500 billion to put an end to deprivation in Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Addressing the delegation of Fata elders at Al-Markaz Al-Islami, Mushtaq demanded the federal government also immediately approve the proposed 22nd amendment and merge Fata with the Provincially Administered Tribal Areas. Mushtaq insisted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should visit the tribal areas and asses the losses and damages of tribespeople from the recent earthquake. “Fata’s people have been deprived of their rights over the last 68 years,” said Mushtaq. He added residents of Fata have protected the country’s borders without any payment. Mushtaq added all education systems were destroyed from militancy and there are no medical facilities for locals in their respective agencies. “The federal government should ensure basic facilities in the respective regions,” he added.
