MQM leads rally against arrest of workers
The four suspects were arrested at the party's Korangi sector raid in Karachi, earlier this week, after Rangers refuted media reports about slowing down their operation against the party.
"The four were involved in various crimes, including target killing, extortion and kidnapping," Rangers told the court.
Earlier this week, nine MQM workers were arrested and Rangers conducted a raid at the party's sector offices where nearly a dozen workers, including the party’s sector and unit in-charge, were arrested.
MQM leaders and workers took to the streets in protest of the arrests and raids ahead of the local government elections.
The rally failed to reach its destination, the Pakistan Rangers headquarters in front of Polo Ground, but the party leaders deemed the demonstration successful and dispersed near Numaish Chowrangi.
