It is useless to complain to the Rawalpindi WASA MD because the complaints of consumers are never addressed
RAWALPINDI: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Rawalpindi issued water supply bills for October 2015, dated November 6 and due on November 20, 2015. The bill was delivered to residents of Iqbal Town, Rawalpindi, on November 18, just two days before the due date. It is useless to complain to the Rawalpindi WASA managing director for this because the complaints of consumers are never addressed. It is also noticed that whenever such complaints of late bill delivery are made to heads of utility departments, the stubborn men in charge never take action against the officers and staff at fault.
It was a court decision that all utility departments would arrange to deliver utility bills to customers at least 10 days before their due date. It is a matter of even greater concern that heads of utility departments do not obey court orders, leaving an even smaller time window for bill payment. This is a cruel policy adopted by heads of utility departments which causes unnecessary stress to 70 million consumers of the country. It appears their intentions are to have consumers experience heart attacks because of having to arrange payments at the last minute. I request the prime minister to issue a warning to heads of utility departments that they should arrange to deliver utility bills to consumers in a timely manner.
