France under attack

Letter November 14, 2015
This was the deadliest violence Paris has witnessed since the end of the Second World War

HYDERABAD: France has once again witnessed scenes of immense terror months after the Charlie Hebdo shootings in the beginning of the year. The country was rocked by multiple tumultuous attacks at entertainment sites around Paris, with at least 128 people killed across different locations in the capital. Two explosions were heard near the Stade de France stadium where a friendly football match between France and Germany was underway and where French President Francois Hollande was in attendance. Extreme panic spread in the city as the reality of the extent and audacity of the attacks became clear.

This was the deadliest violence Paris has witnessed since the end of the Second World War. This vicious act of terrorism is extremely condemnable. To counter the menace of terrorism globally and to safeguard the lives and properties of law-abiding people, long-term strategies are the need of the hour. Governments all over the world need to come together and unite in the face of this evil.
