I urge the companies and employers to introduce initiatives to help female staff members balance work and life
ISLAMABAD: The economic conditions and social demands in Pakistan have resulted in a scenario where working women are under tremendous pressure to develop careers as robust as their male counterparts while sustaining active engagement in their personal lives.
Recently, PTCL introduced a work-from-home facility for the working mothers that it employs, allowing them to work from home two days a month. As an employee and a mother of two children, aged two and four, and with my husband away on business trips for most of the year, this new policy is practically a godsend for me. Now, I no longer have to worry about not spending enough time with my two sons. This initiative is helping me and many other working mothers attain success, both at home and on the job. I urge other companies and employers to also follow the same policy and introduce such initiatives to help female staff members manage their work-life balances in a more effective and efficient way.
