KARACHI: Every year, various foreign scholarships for master’s programmes are announced by the Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) cell and the tests for these are conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS). Various cultural exchange scholarships and Commonwealth scholarships are examples of these. The dilemma is that nobody knows what happens to these scholarships later. The NTS, which charges candidates Rs800 per test, only uploads individual results. There is no merit list or cut-off score known to candidates. I personally know people who have scored more than 80 per cent in these tests and were never contacted by the NTS or any other authority. And if they tried to contact the NTS, they were asked to contact the IPC office, and hence have been running around in circles.
Who are the candidates that are awarded these scholarships? What is the cut-off score to avail the scholarships? Everyone has a right to know.
