Jinnah and the Objectives Resolution (III)

Letter January 01, 2011
Why should we blame the Objectives Resolution?

ISLAMABAD: Why should we blame the Objectives Resolution? Everyone knows that the reason for establishing Pakistan was so that the Muslims of India would have a state of their own. The Quaid’s statement before the first Constituent Assembly that all citizens of the state would be enabled to live their lives according to their own faith does not detract from the principles enunciated in the Objectives Resolution. In fact, the state did show a liberal posture by electing Jogendra Nath Mondal as the first pro tem president of the Constituent Assembly.

Where does it state in the Resolution that people of other faiths be denied their freedom or their right to practice their faith?
