ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is perhaps, is one of those countries where there is no respect for people of intelligence, energy and integrity. Many such people have left the country for good on account of the lack of respect accorded to them. As long as they were in the country, they were mocked. They were disgraced. Pygmies and mediocrities were preferred and listened to at their expense. In foreign countries, however, such people enjoy a dignified life. Indeed, reality bites and the truth hurts. This country seems to have become a haven for duffers and intellectual dwarves.
It is time to educate and sensitise our ruling elite and others who matter that talent is God-given and, therefore, we must respect all talented individuals. If these talented people are compelled to leave the country, then there will be unthinking, callous and arrogant people left in abundance in Pakistan and there will be no future for this country at all.
