This land has waited a long time for a much-needed, clean military commander
VEHARI: This letter is with reference to an article by Amina Jilani titled, “Attitudes anonymous”, published on October 3. I respectfully disagree with the writer’s stance. It is the thinking of every patriotic Pakistani that the country is facing a deadly war. The government’s attempts to counter this conundrum are nothing but cartoonish.
Our corrupt leaders pretend to look busy while actually doing nothing. This land has waited a long time for a much-needed, clean military commander. General Raheel Sharif is the real hero of this nation. The government should let him serve as the chief of army staff beyond 2016, when his tenure is supposed to end. That will be in the best interests of the country.
