Clarification (II)

Letter December 31, 2010
My family and I were harassed by the intelligence agencies' personnel.

ISLAMABAD: In your report titled “In the line of duty Pakistan deadliest in South Asia for journalists” (December 29), it was incorrectly reported that I was tortured by security forces.

I would like to clarify that I was not physically tortured but my family and I were harassed by the intelligence agencies’ personnel. Some men broke into our house on October 1 and stole three laptops, external hard drives, travel documents and other data. Also, in the summary of the Media Monitor Report 2010 by the South Asian Media Commission, there was no mention of the word ‘torture’ in my case, rather the expression used was ‘harassment’.
