It has become normal for Muslims to be treated suspiciously because of the acts of a few terrorists
ISLAMABAD: Recently, Ahmed Mohamed, a teenage boy from Irving, Texas in the US, was arrested for bringing to school a homemade digital clock. Usually teachers applaud their students for creating something new and innovative. In this case, the poor boy received punishment and was handcuffed for creating a clock.
In the West, it is normal for Muslims to be treated suspiciously because of the acts of a few terrorists. Due to the activities of these terrorists who call themselves Muslims while carrying out brutal mass killings in the name of religion, innocent individuals are being made to suffer.
The positive aspect of the arrest of 14-year-old Ahmed is the sympathy and encouragement he received from many American citizens, including the American president, which symbolises that Americans are not anti-Muslim; they are simply anti-terrorist as we all should be. I hope this incident changes the prejudiced behaviour of Western citizens towards Muslims.
