No one is above the law

Letter September 10, 2015
If govt desires to rid Pakistan of culture of corruption, then Rangers operation should be extended to all provinces

ISLAMABAD: The recent suggestion by the federal government to the Rangers to “slow down” their military clean-up in Karachi is ill-advised. All parties involved should allow the Rangers to do their job unimpeded. The National Reconciliation Ordinance was an affront to equal justice for all and a shame to the honest citizens of Pakistan. If the government of Pakistan truly desires to rid the country of the culture of corruption, then the Rangers operation should be extended to all provinces, irrespective of how many ‘big fish’ they catch in the process.

In a true democracy, no one is above the law. If the government ties the hands of the Rangers in doing their job, then the supposed National Action Plan should be flushed down the toilet.
