LAHORE: The sudden increase in private school fee figures is a point of concern for parents who want to provide quality education to their children. A school in which a younger relative is currently studying is one of the best in Lahore. In the last term, the fee for grade five was Rs4,800 while for grade six, it was Rs5,000. Now, within just a year, the fee has shot up to Rs14,000 for grade six. It is becoming very difficult to pay monthly fees as most families in Pakistan are middle class and schools rarely offer scholarships and financial aid. Plus, there has been no change in the quality of education so far. This is something many Pakistanis can relate to and hence, attention should be given to the plight of middle class parents and schoolchildren.
