We are still expected to wait patiently to see the bill materialise
PESHAWAR: I was pleased to see an opinion piece in The Express Tribune titled “Now or never”, by Mr Arshad Mahmood (August 25). There is a great need for this sort of research work on the topic. The main reason for such incidents is the lack of concrete legislation on the issue of child sexual assault in Punjab.
A Child Protection (Criminal Laws) Amendment Bill has been in the pipeline for the last 10 years, but we are still expected to wait patiently to see it materialise.
