In Pakistan we are paying approximately 40 per cent more for sugar than what we paid in 2014
KARACHI: Sugar prices in the international market have declined by roughly 39 per cent. In Pakistan, however, we are paying approximately 40 per cent more for sugar than what we paid in 2014.
The probable reason for this is that many of our politicians, both in the government and the opposition, are owners of sugar mills. Perhaps, we should ask these political leaders, who are present in almost every major political party, why poor Pakistanis are not able to buy sugar at reduced prices.
