Unethical doctors

Letter August 09, 2015
Doctors in Turbat’s civil hospital are not punctual in performing their duties & appear unethical in other ways

TURBAT: Some residents of Turbat are suffering from diseases that cannot be treated in the town’s government hospitals due to a lack of properly qualified doctors. Doctors in Turbat’s civil hospital are not punctual in performing their duties and appear unethical in other ways as well. They have partnered with pharmaceutical companies to receive benefits for promoting the companies’ medicine brands.

Many skilled doctors have resorted to leaving their hospital duties and earning extra money in private practice. In addition, their competence is questionable too, as patients are often prescribed medicines which may not be appropriate for their conditions. Doctors protect themselves from liability by having a clause on their prescription pads that cautions patients to possible adverse reactions from the use of a prescribed medicine. I request the relevant authorities to take serious notice of the situation and act against corrupt doctors.
