Our MNAs and MPAs appointed people to pose as teachers, ordering them to create an uproar and beg for funds
SUKKUR: It was a truly disheartening sight I witnessed recently, during the prime minister’s visit to rural Sindh and the areas affected by floods. Our MNAs and MPAs appointed people to pose as teachers, ordering them to create an uproar and beg for funds and donations whenever the prime minister came near them.
Their rationale was that the prime minister would grant handsome amounts of money on the basis of their loud complaining — a golden opportunity. The fact that ministers have to arrange and deploy a fake mob of people and that citizens have to even put on such an act to secure funding for disaster management in their areas — which should already be taken care of by the authorities themselves — indicates the dire state of affairs in Sindh.
