There are no specialists on hand and sometimes even emergency care is difficult to receive over the holidays
TURBAT: Muslims celebrate two major festivals annually, which characterise seeking the goodwill of God and setting examples of faithfulness towards their duties. However, in terms of medical availability, Pakistan’s healthcare facilities fail to observe Eid in the right spirit.
As soon as Eid holidays begin, hospitals remain without doctors, which cause much inconvenience to patients. There are no specialists on hand and sometimes even emergency care is difficult to receive over the holidays. This is a matter of serious concern and I hope notice is taken by the relevant government department to develop and implement a system whereby there is sufficient staff across Pakistan’s hospitals, especially during public holidays.
