Fake Balochistan domiciles

Letter July 14, 2015
Many candidates from Sindh, Punjab apply for various posts in NTS, BPSC after obtaining fake domiciles from Sohbatpur

MANJHIPUR, SOHBATPUR: Apropos the opinion piece by Hussain Nadim, “Stabilising Balochistan” (July 11), the writer has highlighted a range of causes of the unrest and prevailing misery of the Baloch. One burning issue he has brought to the spotlight is the issuing of fake domiciles of non-local residents, who obtain domicile certificates through corrupt means to get government jobs as they fail to secure jobs in their provinces of origin owing to stiff competition.

I would like to add in this regard that many candidates from Sindh and Punjab have applied for various posts advertised by the National Testing Service and the Balochistan Public Service Commission after they obtained fake domiciles from Sohbatpur — the newly-created district of the province. Such practices are widening the rift between the people of Balochistan and the state so the government should take corrective measures to get things right on a priority basis.
