While in Pakistan, you'll hardly ever find JI, other religious parties condemning the Islamic State, al Qaeda, Taliban
JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA: I was surprised to read the news report, “Daesh is tarnishing the image of Islam, says JIP leader”, as published in a leading Saudi newspaper on July 8. I re-read the same and then noted that the Jamat-e-Islami (JI) leader, Sirajul Haq, issued this statement while visiting Saudi Arabia. While in Pakistan, you will hardly ever find the JI and other religious parties ever condemning the Islamic State, al Qaeda, the Taliban, Boko Haram, Al-Shabab and many other terrorist outfits. They only condemn these entities under intense public pressure, and that too with many ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’.
In view of Saudi Arabia’s firm stand and zero tolerance towards terrorist outfits in the country, the JI leader cannot afford the advocacy of the cause espoused by such outfits. This is nothing but an exemplary piece of hypocrisy.
