Schools for girls

Letter June 20, 2015
The authorities should provide more facilities for girls’ education since they have long been deprived of education

TURBAT: Balochistan, known as the largest province of Pakistan in terms of area, lacks a developed education sector, especially when it comes to girls’ education. It is welcome that the new budget has allocated Rs52 billion for building new schools for girls.

The education department has decided to establish 1,400 new primary schools and upgrade 1,000 primary schools to middle schools and 200 middle schools to high schools. The authorities should provide more facilities for girls’ education since they have long been deprived of education.
