The EU countries have made an uncalled-for intervention in the judicial system of Pakistan
KARACHI: A five-member delegation of the European Union (EU) met the chief minister of Sindh on June 8 and got the hanging of death-row prisoner Shafqat Hussain, which was to be carried out on the morning of June 9, stayed. The accused had kidnapped a seven-year-old child, killed him and demanded ransom.
Since the European Union is so compassionate towards our murderers and killers, why doesn’t Pakistan suggest the EU to give the accused a passport and accommodate him — and the remaining 8,000 murderers in the death cell — in its member countries?
The EU countries have made an uncalled-for intervention in the judicial system of Pakistan. This is a motivated attempt to discredit Pakistani courts and create doubts in the minds of the Pakistani people. It is interesting that the same EU countries had no sense of either compassion or guilt when they endorsed their murderous wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. They call us a terrorist state, they put travel advisory restrictions on us and then they have the audacity to show support to these very terrorists who cause terrorism in Pakistan.
