LAHORE: I write with reference to Rauf Klasra’s report of December 13 titled “Hajj scam: Zardari stops PM from sacking Zardari”. With no ulterior motive implied, I would say that the report in question seems to be exonerating the prime minister. Surely, the buck, so to speak, stops with him since he is the constitutional head of the executive and isn’t so weak that he cannot dismiss a minister who has been accused of corruption. Frankly speaking, we should stop calling ourselves the ‘Islamic Republic of Pakistan’ if such is the state of governance that even Hajis are not being spared.
